wouldn't the claim go on their insurance? surely they have to carry ins. if their employees are driving customer vehicles. i'll be hard pressed not to smash someone's face in if i'm in a traffic accident and the other party is at fault, let alone at the dealership.

i'd call your insurance company and see how they feel about paying for someone else's wreck. they have lawyers.

Thanks everyone. I probably should have posted this two days ago...

I can't think of the name of the service manager but the General manager and supposed partner is David Kelly. The actual owner of the dealership is Bill Adkins and I will probably end up contacting him shortly.

Unfortunately I am letting them try and fix it. I worked on exotic cars for almost 5 years at Norwood Performance and when we had body work done to any customer cars we would go over them with a fine tooth comb looking for anything that might be done wrong. I told the service manager that if I find one imperfection when I come to pick it up (and i will) that everything will be getting replaced at that point and he agreed. I seriously doubt that he will stick to this though.

So when I go to pick it up and I find imperfections what should I do? I am not going to sign a damn thing that's for sure, even if I can't find an imperfection when I am there(seriously doubt) and decide to take it home I am still not going to sign anything.

I probably should not have taken it back to them but I figured if it does come down to legal action it would be easier to after just them.

This would make a good DFW meeting place with lots of peaceful protesting and such dissuading potential customers with the potential dangers to their rides and wallets involved with patronizing this establishment.

lets not get all worked up over a few scratches. they are going to fix it on their dime. same thing could have happened in a parking lot at the store and theh person could have taken off. not a big deal.

Try to take some pictures if you can, for your own record. If you have before pictures post them but when you go in the second time take a camera and make sure they don't rush you.

    NONE.....yet!
This was taken directly form the attorney general's website. A member of my family has used this before. She got a whole new motor........only after she dropped the claim. Don't claim it on your insurance. The shop should have insurance to deal with issues like these.

They don't take these types of complaints lightly

"I have a complaint against a private business. What should I do?
You should begin by attempting to resolve your complaint directly with the business. If you cannot reach a satisfactory conclusion, you can report the matter to our Consumer Protection and Public Health Division. The division monitors business practices in Texas and may bring enforcement action against businesses that violate state consumer protection statutes. Any enforcement action taken by this agency is on behalf of the State of Texas.
You may be able to resolve your complaint by mediation or arbitration. Many cities have non-profit alternative dispute resolution centers and private mediators. In addition, your local Better Business Bureau may offer mediation or arbitration services between consumers and BBB member businesses. Small Claims Court or a Justice of the Peace court may also be able to help. If the issue is very complicated or a large sum of money is involved, you may wish to consult an attorney. The State Bar offers a Lawyer Referral Service at (800) 252-9690. If you cannot afford an attorney, you might be able to find assistance at a clinic sponsored by a nearby law school."

maybe all current forum members should check this thread, comment, and keep the name of the dealership in the spotlight at the top of the forum feeds.

I agree in part. These people call this there profession, therefore I hold them to a higher standard than I do myself or a random person in a parking lot.

It's more about their fucked up attitude about it than the actual damage. Let it happen to your truck and see how much of a patch job you'd be willing to accept. Betting you wouldn't wanna............
