Went by Toyota of Gastonia, NC today and pulled my truck in the service bay. Service rep came out I asked him if he would check and see if my truck was on any recall or TSB list. My truck was build date is Dec 7th 2009. I now have a little over 650 miles on my truck. And I specifically asked about the driveshaft recall.

He took down my VIN number and verified using my VIN that there are no recalls or TSB's of any type on my truck. Provided a copy of this info to me in writing. This copy goes in the vault.

So then went and drove to the ARE store and ordered my "Z" series ARE topper which will be here 15 March.

Life is good.:D Now stop the insanity! hahahaha!

Mine has a build date of 12/09. I had the dealer check it when I pick it up last week--same thing--no recall. Hope he's correct!

I am sure he is. Did you get anything in writing? Not a bad idea to have it in print for the vault/file.

    Just sayin....

I am not the least bit worried and drive my new truck with total confidence. Owned Yo's since my first new one in 1989. Best trucks on the planet.

So the rear leaf TSB doesn't apply to your truck?

raskal311 is right, Keep in mind that a tsb is not a recall, you need to complain about something specific for them to look into it, other then that, they won't tell you there is a tsb. Your rear springs do apply!!:)

my build date is DEC 17, 2009 and I had them check the driveshaft and I had the TSB performed for the rear leaf spring. But I don't qualify for the Transmission TSB.

Would like to hear where your 2010 Tacomas were built?

I got mine in Dec. 2009, and it comes from the Baja California plant.

The springs are stiffer than my '05, only 3 leafs but wouldn't bottom out like the '05 did with passengers or cargo. No recalls on mine either... that I am aware of.

According to the service tech at Gastonia Toyota who pulled my VIN and told me that my truck is clear and good to go, No the TSB does not apply, If I learn different, than he and I will have a chat.:)

And I just have to say, my truck is running smooth as silk....no issues what so ever. And I am enjoying it as much if not more than all the other YO'S I have owned. For what its worth....

On the leaf spring is it possible to visually look at the springs to see if the are the new ones? Other than than loading the truck down?

Mine is from Baja and was built in Oct. '09, and the dealer said nothing applied in terms of TSB's, which the rear leaf obviously does...

Mine is Oct. '09, didn't ask the dealer about the rear suspension. I told him about the TSB and that when I loaded my toolbox it squatted a little too much. They ordered the parts today and will fix it Monday. All done on the phone. (This is not a truck toolbox, but the one I unloaded and use at work)

Mine too. Built in Cali. 10/09, I purchased in 01/2010. It doesn't have TSB, I haven't noticed any issues, it has 3 springs. Check the door jam on the driver's side of the vehicle, there should be a label there with plant #, mfr date, other stuff.

You say "Mine too", but then you say Cali..

California is not the same as Baja California... not just a different state, but a different country!

FYI: Baja California (where mine was built) is part of Mexico, just south of USA's California... which originally was 'Alta California' before we took it from Mexico, and shortened the name. Baja means 'lower' and Alta means 'upper'.

Does the door jam lable say Toyota de Baja California ('de' means of)?

Thank you for the geography and history lesson. Not sure it was necessary though. I happen to call "lower" California "cali" but I don't think there's anyway someone here would know that unless they did so for the same reasons I do.

As far as whether my label indicates Mexico or USA I will have to check.

No worries... typically we call it 'Baja' for short and Mexicans call it 'La Baja' for short. Canadians often call it 'The Baja', like the way we might say The Congo, The Sudan, The Sahara...

It is Baja California, and was originally just California, with the area that is our state called Alta California.

The history was just for fun, and others who are reading this and might enjoy it.

Look in the door jam and see where your Tacoma was made.

Yeah, I was about to post that my vin starts with a 5, so that means "upper" cali not "lower" cali. So, it's made in USA.

My truck pretty much completely level. Although I haven't loaded it down yet, but I can state that there doesn't appear to be a ride quality issue right now.

I have an awesome service manager who has always been proactive in getting stuff done on my Toyotas. He is a Tacoma owner as well, so that helps! He ran the VIN on mine, which was built Dec. 09 and nothing came up for recalls yet
He told me to call any time to schedule getting the rear spring TSB done and he will put the Bilstein 5100s in the front and align it under my free alignment you are allowed within the first 12,000 miles. Guy is awesome and has done the spring TSB on my '07 SR5 and the '07 I traded for my new one.
It really helps when you have a true Toyota fan as your service guy and you can get good relationship with him.
