I have a 2005 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab, 4.0L, Automatic transmission. The last few months (it's seem to have gotten worse as well) I have noticed that when the gas engages and disengages the truck makes a noise and seems to jump some. Is this the transmission? If so, what type of warranty does this year/model have and etc, or what else could it be? Should I get a the transmission fluid drianed or?

Still waiting on mileage- IIRC the Auto transmission is a 100K service interval?? So it might be that time. Old fluid can do bad things....U Joints would be guess #2

    1. The truck has just under 87,000 miles.
    2. It does shake but I am planning on tomorrow getting my tires balanced and rotated with an oil change. Should I have them check the drive shaft/u-joint while they are doing the oil change and should I take it to the local Toyota dealer for this or?
    3. How much do you think it costs to change out the u-joints?
Thanks again in advance for your help!

    Definitely have them look.
Shouldn't be more than an hour's labor to drop the shaft and press out a joint, $15 for a joint so...............$300.00 :D
