Anyone have pics of 5100 shocks assembled?

Trying to get my 5100 shocks installed this weekend but before I take them into a shop to do the spring swap with the stock coils, I'd like to see how the assembled shock/spring will look like. I want to make sure the shop assembles it correctly. Don't want the spring perch installed backwards or anything.

Also, did you add a spacer on the driver side?

Yes, I think they are. How much will a shop charge to assemble them? Not asking for cost of installation on the truck since I'm doing that.

Looks good. You want the "tail" on the bottom of the coil to be in back. Hopefully your top 3 screws and the bottom shock eye are lined up too. I know how to line it all up but describing it in words would take a lot of writing.

Edit: I went back and looked at the picture again. It all looks pretty well lined up.

Guys, in the middle of installing my shocks. Do I need to re-install the little spacer on the bottom? Need an answer quick please!

 

What little spacer are you talking about? Pics are also helpful if you get the chance

 

I figured it out. My coilovers came with a spacer to bolt the bottom. These bilsteins don't need it.

Well, I tried to install the shocks but the bottom shock eye was not completely lined up with the top bolt so it wouldn't go in. So frustrating!!!! I did manage to take apart my passenger side TC UCA to add more grease. what a pain.

I'll take back the bilsteins to the shop and have them correct it. They better not charge me either.

 

Hope it works out for you and I hope I don't run into the same issues when I do mine.

 

Just make sure the bolts and shock eye on the bottom line up. Mine was off just enough that the shock couldn't seat right. Good luck!
