Can someone here help and give me a little light here on the subject. Most of the truck magazine's only seem to have a majority of american trucks and rarely imports. tacoma's, frontier's, etc. In the showcase section of the magazine's or the part where they show a certain grill on a truck for you to buy! they mostly use american trucks. I could be totally wrong but I was hoping on someone shedding some light on the subject???

I have noticed this myself, and just don't buy that stuff anymore. I know that all the big trucks in my neck of the woods are domestics.

I've noticed this, too. I don't get it either considering the sales volume and the amount of mods available for these trucks. It was the same with Explorers (I had a '99 V8 Limited). Highest selling SUV EVER and you barely ever saw them in magazines but there were also minimal mods, too.

It's Taco envy. It's the only thing I can figure. A buddy of mine(non-Tacoma owner) says, for some reason, he sees alot of Taco haters on forums he visits. Can't figure out why.

When I see how many Tacos are on the road I can't believe there isn't more gear for us out there! The other day I was headed for Tofino(west coast Vancouver Island ) and there were 4 of us in a row. About the time I noticed this here comes 2 more heading the other way -lots of thumbs up and headlite flashing! Anyway the aftermarket dudes are missing the boat-bigtime! while we're on the subject -why do so many of the suppliers make stuff like grilles that look the same as all the other guys????

There's alot to that "Tacoma envy" coined by Toy4life. My theory-Toyota spends mega time and money on the design that goes into your truck (you gotta watch how much you modify a Tacoma..at a certain point it detracts from its beauty) that you cant really improve upon it. Look at the lines and curves on your truck and compare. The only car company that ever poured their hearts into design the way Toyota does was Dodge with the Kenworth looking Ram-but their trucks were horribly unreliable for alot of years. Look at jhodge83's rig-he actually REMOVED bling and black-leveled the entire truck, rendering it even badder than the baddest Dodge you've seen! My 1st gen to me looks more "American" than most of the American trucks. I've seen most of your trucks...you gotta admit this truck speaks our language. The best part of owning one of these-in the 7 years I've owned this truck, I've been BANKING the cash others are spending to fix theirs!;)

Jealousy. We have the best built, driving, and looking trucks on the road. Not to mention, they dont lose their value.

I have friends in the union that won't even look at a Toyota, and have been kind of snotty to me for buying one.

I'm a teamster, and I don't give a shi+ who thinks what of me. I love my Taco, and regardless of what anyone thinks or says, it is the best damn truck in existence, period.
