I really like how understated they are. Good lookin tacoma man

Girlfriend would use them as steps, but i'd use them what they're intended for

when i try and explain what sliders are to most people i just have to say they're crazy strong side steps.

but just make sure you make them out of DOM or HREW

Shockworks quoted me 8 weeks shipped and delivered in about 6 weeks so I am happy. Others have not been so lucky though. I simply ordered and waited...I only sent one follow-up email to inquire and by that time they were in transit. Personally I willing to wait for a superior product. They are a small family owned business and I think they can get backed up at times but nevertheless, for me it was well worth the wait.

Yeah, i'd be up for it once I buy my own tube bender in a month or so. I'd price them at $350 bare metal for weld on style + shipping.

+1 for the shrockworks. Worth the wait!

Neubs, your truck is looking badass, nice work!

I'm in serious need of new pics, but here's a couple of the shrockworks from last summer or so:

Is there any point for the sliders to stick out, or is it better being close to the cab like the Shrockworks are?

    Damn fine work, I like.

There's probably a lot of places to test them out around Gold Beach. I was down there late last summer for an awesome rafting trip down the Rogue, awesome area!

Thanks. Yeah, its a nice area. Its where I grew up, parents still live there. I'm in Klamath Falls most of the year going to college but still make visits back there.

exactly, and then fill them with helium so that you can fly away.

sorry, i meant to say don't make them out or standard steel.....if you read my next post you would have known that:)

Again huh? You must not realize they are "standard" steel. They are both carbon steel with only slight differences in strength. DOM is "drawn over mandrel" and HREW is "hot rolled electrically resistance welded". Really the only 2 types of "standard" steel tubing you will find available. It has more to do with tolerance, and a seam, than anything. I think you meant to say to not use pipe for sliders. Although I think it should be strong enough in this application, heavy gauge tube is the better choice.

You need to find a balance. Sliders WILL flex all the time, and CAN bend if hit hard enough, so if they are too close to the cab, they may bend up INTO your truck either damaging the body, or causing it so you cannot open your door. However, too low looks funny and can (depending on how they are mounted) reduce your clearance, which you do not want either...it is all about a balance.

Having them kick out in the rear like allpro or mine, will give you a bit of a "pivot point" that you can acutally use to pivot around rocks as well.
