Sorry, i'm sure this is a dumb question, but what's the difference between a prerunner and a normal sr5? I've got an 06 4x4 extra cab sr5, and it looks exactly the same as the prerunner to me... just without the 'badge'.
I've always thought that prerunners were 4x2, but these things now look just the same as the 4x4 models.
    What's going on?
    thanks a lot,
    Mike

the pre runner is the same as a 4x4 just without the transfer case and a few other things to make it 4x4

Prerunners are 2wd but with a 4wd suspension. I think you can get a Prerunner in base trim, TRD Sport or TRD Offroad.

Huh. So they offer a trd offroad 2wd? Do they still have the locking rear diff?

I have a 07 2WD Prerunner SR5... It looks the same on the inside as the 4WD SR5.. I checked all this out before I bought the truck! Didn't really have a need for the 4WD.

The only difference on the inside is the prerunner doesn't have the four wheel drive dial.
