Any surprises or problems should I expect when installing Toytec rear 1" blocks ?

I just finished installing Toytec coilovers on my '05 Tacoma 4x4. PITA!! Had to call a buddy over to crowbar the LCA down far enough to get the new coilover in and the lower shock mount had to be hammer tapped to get it lined up to mount. To add another kick to the groin, I had to do the install with the wheels on due to previous owner losing the lug nut key!! So, are there any surprises for the rear 1" block install? (Currently working on removing the locking lug nut by forcing on a socket, thanks youtube!)

U-bolts & centering pins.

Do you have new u-bolts? If not, you should get new ones.

Centering pins - make sure they're intact and not broken. Make sure they're in the holes provided in the block.

Make sure you torque the u-bolts down properly and securely. Check the u-bolts and the blocks after a week of so of driving. Periodically check the block to make sure it's not deforming (especially if its alluminum).

 

Thanks for the info! Great link. Is the Diff. drop needed? Toytec convinced me to buy it but seems there is a split between guys who uses it or not needed. The rear comes with U-bolts. Also, how easy is it to adjust the coilover with the included wrench after install? Are there marks on the coilover so I know what the setting are?

 

Depending on how your CV looks you can use the Diff Drop. Most people think you can get it cheaper from a part store rather than buying online. Some say its bogus, some say it helps. The easiest way to adjust the coilovers is at full droop w/o the wheels. Not gonna lie, it is a pain because on my 02, the UCA is in the way.
