Its been around for a long time and does work. If you pull it through a vacuum line, put it in the fuel and oil, it can help to clean out the internals. Doing it every so often wont hurt a thing and will definitely help.

    That's not "fixing" that's maintaining.

I don't like the idea of pieces of carbon flaking off and having to somehow get past the valves and not score up the cylinder. I will just continue to do normal maintenance and blow it out every once in a while:D

didnt say it was fixing
oil changes are not the only way to maintain. Do you re-torque? rotate tires? check your suspension components? Seafoaming your engine is just another step in preventive maintenance that can reduce carbon build up

x2............you dont wanna do it too often, but over time(around every 20k miles is what i normally do), a damn good idea to keep the deposits down.

I work at an Acura dealer and I recommend it every 30K. I have a special tool that limits the flow of seafoam into the engine as to not cut it off. Use almost every bit in the can each time.

I started seafoaming when I was on TN and some members there do it every oil change. I think that is a long enough wait between seafoams. It doesnt really matter that much tho, 20K is great, I just like to do it more.

also works great for those lawn mowers and weedeaters you let sit all winter with gas in them. little bit in the gas tank works wonders.

yep...i use it in mowers and such as well. when im cleaning a carburetor in a small engine....i take the carb off..strip the jets out, and let it sit in a bowl of b12 chem-tool.....then seafoam in the tank.

If seafoam were that important - then Toyota would recommend it in their maintenance list.

Sorry, but I don't use any of those additives in my truck. Waste of money if you ask me. The only additives I use is Techron in the fuel system and I'm not even didicated at using that because I'm not truely convinced it does anything. All it does is give you peace of mind and a lighter wallet.

Using synthetic oils regularly helps to remove carbon deposits. Everytime I change my oil and its like dark chocolate, I know the deposits are being removed.
