i wouldnt base how I maintain my truck purely on how Toyota recommends it. There have been a lot of great maintenance tips on this forum
that Toyota doesnt mention in their maintenance list, but they still benefit your truck.

i agree its probably not totally needed. but after having clean out a gummed up carb in a mower that had been sitting for 5 months and using just a little seafoam in a tiller that had been sitting for around 3 years outside and having it fire up and run great. i dont think it would hurt to use a little in my truck every couple oil changes.

Why would I change synthetic oil sooner than 5,000 miles? And really, do I need a color chart to know when I'm supposed to change it?

The point I'm making here,is the synthetic oil I use (Mobile 1) removes sediment from the engine and I don't need to use seafoam.

This thread is killin me. With or without proper maintenance, the Toyota will keep running. Its been proven more than a few times. I worry about rust and rot?

I pray these new trucks can last as long as their older (stronger/reliable) generations have.

Not much you can do to prevent rust/rot and still drive it daily. You can try coatings & such, but you can't possiblely protect every single nook/cranny of the truck from rust. Atleast the drive-trains stay solid!!

I have 85k on my truck and really need to get the throttle body cleaned. Will this help, or should i just remove the throtle body and clean it manually.
