Crawler in a current gen Hilux

I know the Hilux is not a Tacoma but it is in the same family as the Tacoma.

Marlin from Marlin Crawler and I went to Australia last week to install a Marlin Crawler into a current gen Hilux. The first in the world to have one. We had a great time and have found that the people there are great.

This is the truck that it went into. It's a turbo diesel Hilux with an automatic transmission.

Wyatt, that was a great build. the finished interior is perfect. I hope I can get my old truck interior to look that finished.

Hey no problem guys. We had a great time down under. Max and his family were so nice and Marlin is always a blast to hang around with. We met so many nice people down there. Everyone was so very pleasant to us.

Hope to do something like that again in the future.

I am jealous! Thanks for posting and taking the time to edit all the pics and story. Looked like a blast and I bet it felt good when you went into that off road shop at closing and the owner said...hey I know you guys! Awesome trucks down there too, I miss my old pre taco trucks.

Awesome! Looks vicious. Makes me weep though to see a scoop on a vehicle with a snorkel.

Actually the scoop is for the intercooler for the turbo. It's not for air intake into the engine. He's got a turbo diesel in there and so the scoop does work and the snorkel works as well. Max's truck is a very well thought out rig. He works for Toyota in Australia at the Melbourne factory.

That's an awesome Hilux. Are diesels better for engine braking because they run at a higher compression?
