Question for you guys, I am looking at upgrading my 2001 Double Cab soon to a 2006+ Double Cab, are you able to purchase and add an oem roof rack to any of the double cabs? Do they have the mounting points under some type of strip on the roof ?

i'm 99% sure you can mount the oem rack to any dbl cab. There are bolt holes located under the back rubber strips that run down either side. You just remove the rubber strips and bolt the rack in place. It's really simple.

I had a Yakima on my D/C, but the feet sat so far out (compared to the Thule) that it did indeed dent the roof a little when a heavy load was put on it not to gently. I have the OEM now, which looks nice but does not hold much weight, so I think I am going to get rid of it and end up fabricating my own cross bars to mount in the OEM holes.

Before fabricating from scratch check to see if Yakima sells towers that mount to the OEM rails, I think they make them for most OEM racks, Then you can use the Yakima crossbars if you still have them.

Does anyone one have a Loadwarrior or a Megawarrior on their racks? If so can I get a head on shot. I want to see how wide they are compared to the truck. Thanks

My truck had Yakima racks on the cab of the truck and on the topper from the previous owner, and it looked like they have been on for a long time and used a lot. When I took the racks off of the roof of the cab I was definably expecting there to be damage to the roof from them, but to my surprise everything was perfectly fine. Also it looks like the racks have held up very well over the years.

Here is my '07 with Yakima lowriders attached to the OEM setup. My '10 has a Leer cap with the Thule Trackster II so I didn't install the OEM's this time.

Here's a couple fully loaded Picts. This setup (L2S) uses the OEM Toyota bed cleat/rail system to mount all your Thule or Yakima accessories. The chick is optional!

They are from Nasta and are still on the truck and holding up well. A little discolorization around the foot pads but nothing major. One of my buddies from work has the truck now.
