I have an 05 regular cab prerunner with a 6 inch pro comp lift on the way. I plan on purchasing wheels and tires within the next week or so. I would really like to slap those motometals on with some 35 inch pro comp tires. Will it work? Is that enough backspacing? I'm open to any and all advice. Thanks.

Is 4.50 back spacing enough? I was thinking since its a 6 inch lift that it might look tall and not wide.

 

i thought you had to have 17 inch wheels with a six inch lift

Due to the new parts you're getting for the 6" lift a 16" wheel wont clear the space. You'll have to get 17" or higher and since 17" is a rare tire you might as well do an 18" wheel... Check out my pics and you'll see 305/75/R18 with a 6" lift..

 

I ordered my lift last friday to pick up in the 4wheelparts store and they havent called me yet to pick it up. I think I'll ask them when I get there what my choices are for wheels and tires. I read on some threads that they will usually cut you a deal if you buy at the store.

 

Kyle, your truck looks great but I think Im gonna go with as little rim size as I can because i love the look of big tires and little rims. I might just have to take your advice and go with the 17s

 

The reason you have to do this is because (i can't remember the exact term) the joint used to connect your upper and lower A-Arms is a smaller than the one they have to replace it with so when they replace it with the new one it is bigger than a 16 inch wheel can fit. Also becareful with the backspacing.. You should be good but but if you don't have enough you will have to ditch your sway bar. I am pretty sure i have a 5.0" backspacing and that is the most you can have... The lower the number the better. ecause i have that i ddon't have a sway bar anymore.. Cons - A little more boating feeling on the highway driving. Pro- better offroad capability!

 

Okay, great. Thanks. I was looking for some with little backspacing because i want them to stick out a little bit. I think I'll save a little longer and go with the 17s. You think 4.53 backspace and offset of -12mm okay? Im not sure what the offset is
