I upgraded from my 2006 Taco to 2010 Taco. It is totally worth it. If you can make the payments, then I would go for it. The 2010 offers a backup camera, satelite radio, auxillary port, and bluetooth (that is if you purchase the trd package with those options). Those small things make a huge difference in my opinion. Go test drive the 2010 if you haven't yet.

for just 100 bucks more go with the 2010. The 4x4 capability alone is well worth it.

Also, when I traded in my '05 with 102,000 miles on it for the '10, my lease payment went up only $20!

I say just buy a older 4X4....I just bought my first Tacoma last week a 07 TRD off Road 4x4 DC. Paid 21k financed 15 k with my trade and the truck only has 39 k miles.

I couldnt see paying the 32 k for the 2010. Granted I do lose the Comp warranty, but I wasnt not worth the extra 10k.

PS I want to thank everyone on this site, I have changed all my 30k fluids and got some TSB's ( low speed vide) done as well since last week.

Save you money up & continue driving your 06 Prerunner / Wannabe Tacoma.
Make the minor repairs, when the wheels fall off, then replace it with a 2012 / 2014 4x4 Tacoma.

You would change the whole chunk. Your diff would be open until you lock it. It will do you better than what you have now, if you have gotten by with what is on the truck then the locker would be 1 step better. Having good tires will also lessen you need for the 4x4. I honestly would keep your 06 and toy with the jeep. The prerunners are more than capable! I owned an 02 prerunner sold it and got an 07 4x4. I do more for fun with the 4x4 but never had issues going where I wanted or needed to go with my prerunner.

I would definately go for the 2010. I have a 2009 and love it since the day I bought it a year ago. 4x4 is definately a need and would go for it if you don't have it. If you drive over 36K a year then your 2006 has to have racked up some miles. Going for the 2010 is definately the better choice.

I believe you can. Actually, I see them all the time, everyone here and their mother owns a Tacoma. Guess puertoricans love Toyotas. ;)

But yeah, you can get any type of package or model for the Tacomas here.

Yeah, I was thinking the same, but ive only had this Taco for about year, maybe a bit more, and the previous owner didnt use it all that much in the time he had it. Even though mine pisses me off now and then, I finnally decided to keep it, even more so when I was made aware that I could lower my payment on the one I currently own by ~$100, staying in the same terms that I owe, but simply switching banks.

So yeah, this would make the 2010, $200 bucks more, which is a no no for me, since it seems like a waste of money.

Since Ive thought about this, ive just been toying with what im going to do with the vehicle. Gonna ask sockmonkey for a stripe vinyl pretty soon, gonna do some mods to the suspension and ill finish my interior, which will be all black (yes, drool over all black! mwhahahaha), anyhow............, I decided to spend some time on this one and cut back on unnecessary spending.
