Having trouble starting truck!!

Hey everyone, I am having trouble starting my truck once in awhile. It is a 2005 Toyota tacoma 2.7l manual trans. When i say once in awhile I mean it randomly will not crank over or anything. No clicking just dead. At first I thought it was my battery so I bought a new one. The battery was 5 years old. It seemed to be ok for awhile but then randomly sometimes it wont start. The weird thing is when i push the clutch cancel switch to start it, it always starts right up. Even without that when it wont start once you take the key out for a bit then try again it starts most of the time. Could it be some type of safety switch for the clutch pedal that has gone bad or something else? I am a bit stumped on this one. I never had trouble till about a week ago.

 

I have the same problem on my 09, every once in a while it just won't start. I let it sit for a few minutes, then it will fire up. There is a TSB that will address this issue, I'm not sure of the number, but if you search, it has been posted...

 

It is a 6 lug model with the 2.7L 4-banger.

 

Also when I say the truck won't start I mean it won't even crank at all. You turn the key and the dash lights and all come on but that's it.

what is the TSB? sorry idk....im new n this is my 1st truck!!! ive had the starting problem 2 times...1st was the battery n the 2nd idk wtf it was!!! any help would b appreciated!!! thanks!!!

I don't know if this is relevant to your situation, but, I remember watching an episode of Motorweek, and Pat Goss was saying that carrying those little electronic key fobs that open doors and gates on your key chain can sometimes interfere with these new electronic keys.
