Removal of Spots On Glass

Does anyone know of any product or technique that may remove the water spots that have - I guess stained my windows?

 

Sounds goofy, I had this out here in az as we have pretty hard water - a little polishing compound rubs em right out, and didn't screw up the windows.

 

or some fine steel wool with water.

Bon-Ami. It is a cleanser that does not have bleach in it. It is available in markets in the same section where you can find Comet Cleanser with bleach.

Bon-Ami used to be recommended by auto manufacturers and works great for removing road film, bugs and spots off of windows. just wet the window, sprinkle on the Bon-Ami (Or sprinkle it on a rag or paper towel_ and scrub the windows then rinse it off.

If you use steel wool, use the 000 grade, that way it wont mess up your glass. I have used CLR to some good results, just be sure to keep it off your paint.

When someone wants to salvage an old window out of a classic car, they can wet sand the window, it cleans it up real nice.

They use a fine grit of sandpaper/water, and work down in steps to a finer grit.
But I probably wouldn't recommend trying this, I don't have the guts to try it.

They sell polishing machines and compounds for car windshields, but that would be last resort if everything else fails. Try calling up some of your local auto body shops and see if they have the experience to wet sand, or have a polisher.

 

Plain ol' Rubbing compound always worked wonders for me!

 

A really good window cleaner and some effort.

I use Meguiars Glass Cleaner and it works very well.

 

Bon - Ami cleanser

 

Stoner's Invisible Glass and very little elbow grease always works for me. I have unfiltered Pinal county liquid calcium (aka what they pass for water here). Works for me every time.

Note, if you have tint on your windows never use Windex or any ammonia based cleaner on the tint side... it will eat the adhesive and make it bubble up.

Op, I would suggest using steel wool like some of the other guys have said. The finest u can find. I think it's 000? Spray windex on your glass and rub the steel wool around and it will take everything off! Your glass will be squeeky clean. Oh and don't worry it won't scratch, I've done it to hundreds of cars. Some of wich were very expensive.

I use a few different things, Bar Keepers Friend to get all the crap off the windshield then invisible glass to clean it up.

 

If all else fails or you're not happy with the other products mentioned try a "Mr. Clean Magic eraser" Damn think works phenomenally fro me on everything and does not scratch.
