Exactly ! very same as my issue that I figured was an overly sensitive VSC as I posted above ,

VSC light AND beep , growling noise / vibration in the pedal (s) , which I attributed to the VSC doing it's thing ,

I am always cornering when it happens to me which is why I am thinking overactive yaw sensor , but I have no lift but am running 265 / 70 / 17 MT's

JDM look here , this was brought to my attention by NVDeserted , http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/suspension/41215-lift-vsc-answer.html

Awesome!! That looks to be exactly the solution to this problem. I may be taking my truck to the dealership soon and mention this issue. Thanks OZ!

That's what I've been thinking this whole time man... It may not be necessary with today's technology, but I don't think it is harmful. I mean, isn't that what transmissions are FOR?

I do this ALL the time (winter and summer) with my '09 auto 4x4 and I have never had this happen.

Take it in to the garage before something really gets damaged.

    Cheers.

You want to disable a safety system because...it makes a little noise?

If it's activating when it shouldn't, take it to the dealer.

If I said my 6speed tranny makes noise when I leave it in third when I'm going 70 u would light me up. But a dude that has an electronicly setup-engineered-syncronized 5/6 speed auto and he is trying to downshift...
Thanks for the boot but sounds more like u need it in your mouth. Jk jk loosen the grip on your keyboard. The auto will hold a gear for u on downgrades to help slow u down. Plus the Tacoma has brake assisted computers that give braking power to different wheels depending on weight xfer. Ie. If ur bed is loaded down more braking to the rear. So I'll leave the engineering to Toyota and just drive the vehicle. Just my .02

You fellas have all lost track that the OP didn't ask if he should or shouldn't shift his auto transmission , but was trying to diagnose his apparent VSC issue ,
