Does anyone have their windshield tinted....if so how dark? Also has anyone used the ceremic tint on the front if so do you like it. Post pics of your tint.

I have been thinking of doing it this summer to keep the truck cool inside. I will probably only do 50% tint though.

Had my car done at 50% for 3 years and I never got even a second glance from the cops. Also had the windows at 20%.
I have thought about doing the taco, I need to get the windshield fixed first.

Where I live you pick up a lot of rocks in the windshield. My truck has 8800 miles on it, I got 3 chips already. I wouldn't bother tinting it as I expect to replace the thing probably annually. (The insurance companies know it's bad, so they pretty much cover windshield replacements in full, no question)

I cut some wires here. Added some wires there.
Do you guys that have the front tinted have inspection in your state? That's the only thing keeping me from doing this. I can't figure out how to not have it destroyed when the dude comes to scrape the old sticker out. In NJ the inspection sticker goes inside, in the bottom driver side of the windshield. When it's time to change it, they use a razor blade scraper. They won't just hand you the sticker and let you do it yourself. I'd probably fail anyway for having it tinted, but there's always the chance they won't notice. Maybe I'd have to register as a show truck or something?

    secret stuff.
Really wanted to do this and kept dropping the hint to my tint guy. He said if you ever get in a wreck and the insurance company finds out you had the whole windshield tinted, they can refuse to cover anything. I'd love to have it, but if what he said was true, not worth it!

Many states have exceptions to the law. Go to your doctor and get a note that states you need to have the tint because of your skin condition.

Tinted windshields? Really? I'd never do this. It just seems so pointless, and moderately dangerous if you drive at night a fair amount. Just my $.02

6% Tint all around, Toyota all-weather floor mats, Toyota bed extender and skid plate, Python 991 remote-start alarm, oem cruise control and class III hitch were all installed within a couple months. I then installed Icon c/o's and Icon's 3-leaf aal with 17x9" GA9's and 285/70/17 Goodyear Duratrac's. The DRL mod was done, as was a custom rack setup similar to the org. cross bars. Blacked out headlights bought online, and a BOSS 1500 under-seat sub installed along with a Pioneer double-din DVD player
I'm 6% all around w/ 52% on the front windshield, and I love it! I wear Rx glasses 95% of the time, and the 52% cut down on the glare big-time! I also think my dash will hold up better b/c of the UV protection. I live in Vegas, and I think the cops look away from dark tint for the most part. BUT, my buddy has a Tundra and he is 4% all around and 35% on the front windshield and he got a ticket here in Vegas.

My tint's not too dark at night, except for backing up....makes me want to get a 7" in-dash HU to hook up my rear-view camera (the base models are pre-wired and just need a monitor).
