I thought technically a straight pipe was headers and then a pipe with no cats? No muffler doesn't sound bad on a 2nd gen. If you're curious unbolt your exhaust after the y pipe. It's just two bolts. With the cats it's not too obnoxiously loud and sound nice imo.

(but not if you dont like loud) lol.. soon to come: -black headlight mod -aftermarket grill -blacked out emblems -headers -new shocks and leafsprings - considering all pro front bumper
ive cut out the muffler and ran a ypipe into duals out the back.
if your gonna straight pipe you should do duals.
i had a single straight pipe for awhile and it sounded like everyone is saying. but the dual pipes with 18" long 3" tips gives it a deeper nicer sound. extremly loud tho lol but idc bout that.

i also tried a flowmaster 44 and it sounded good but not like i wanted, i just took it back off over the weekend.

the only thing is at low rpms the straights dont sound as good but once you get above about 2500 it sounds pretty good. and when you hit about 3500 to 4 rpms youll be wakeing up the whole neighbor hood. especially in between building and under bridges. but i love it lol

    hope that helped ya out
