Since I just started my new full time job I have been debating between moving out of my parents house(I am 20) or getting a double cab Tacoma! And after months of thinking I have decided to get the Tacoma! Does anyone have any advice for me while looking. I want a 2008-2010 and it must be in great shape! Any advice on a good price I should look for or the estimate of an average monthly payments?? Or what to look for when buying!

Move out of your parents house first. The liberating experience far exceeds that of getting a new truck.Besides.......how long do you expect to be sucking on your parents teets anyway?

I plan on living with my parents until I'm through with college. Idk about you, but staying on the tit as long as possible is the smartest thing to do in these times.

The way I see it is like this

One my parents do have a curfew or anything for me and let me do what I want
Free meals and room and board
I can have truck mostly paid off in a few years when I am ready to move out and I will be able to save more money!

    All I read was

One, I still live with my parents.
I'm scared to be on my own.
I can waste my money on something that is a need and not a want until I grow up and finally move out.

I'm not trying to be harsh here, but moving out will bring you soooo much more joy then a new truck. My parents were sooo lenient when I lived with them. Moving out still gives you a sense of freedom even when the parents are layed back.

Yea well I figured I can move out in a few years once the truck is close to being paid off! And around that time me and my GF may be getting married so double income!

Not a good decision, but also not my decision.

If you were smart, you'd get 6 months of living expenses saved into an oh-shit fund and get your ass out of mom n pop's place.

Man?, move out of your parents house and get an older/cheaper vehicle. Living on your own will be SO much sweeter than a shiny new piece of metal you have to pay monthly for.

Living with your parents while in school seems perfectly fine to me.

Now if you are not going to school and you are lazy, that is a different story.

Don't sweat it if your parents wants to help you if fine. Just get good grades.

I am going to be working full time while taking classes online to get my bachelors in computer information technology! So it may be better to stray home for a bit so I get my work done!

Stay home and forget everyone else! Staying at home and saving up is the best thing you can do right now! Im freakin 24 and still at home, so is my bro who is 25. Its hard to save up and try to get your own place right now the way things are and all.

Everyone that say's "move out, its better" just thinks its awsome and cool to move out at an early age and then be broke bc you dont realise the exspenses you have with your own place! Or there parents just sucked ass! :) Mine are cool and layed back and dont care what I do, as long as Im working full time and trying save my money in order to move out.

Get the truck dude, and then save up!

TBH, the better solution would be to keep your '96 taco, save the money and put it toward buying a house with your future wife (if you're serious about that). Then you'll have dirt cheap living expenses with the current market (You can get a damn fine house in AZ for 80k these days, and with 23k down that's a hella cheap payment even on the 15yr plan). Then once you get that, you'll know what the gen 3's look like and won't have any regrets on which you get.

I stayed at home in college too so I can't argue the benefits, though moving out was well worth it and well overdue.

Just my $0.02 if I could do it over again, take it for what it's worth to you.

Your payments are not good.Last august I bought a 2010 fully loaded to the max 4 door dbl cab TRD Offroad for $28,000 through my auto broker.Put $10,000 down and my payments are way less then yours bro.You should be paying well under $300 a month for a 5 yr loan @$13,600 down.

After financing for 6 years I will pay about $30,800.
