Ok whats the deal, one site says its stainless steel, on says its aluminized.

Who has dynomax on their 4.0L and how has it held up?

i think chris4x4 has it, the tacoma god and swears by it. i think you get the most horsepower gains with the dynomax.

I dont have it, but I tested it, and it gave the most hp gain out of the ones I have tested. The aluminized set up is lighter than the SS. I belive they recently began makeing the SS ones. Not sure where you would findthem.

No. I tested quite a few mufflers a year before I joined. Wife threw out all my dyno slips. :(

chris, what would you personally recommend for a performance muffler for the 4.0? im looking at dynomax and aero, and like them both, but you have the experience.

i would like something that growls when you step on the pedal, i know its a v6, so i dont really want it to sound like a v8...

i have heard the dynomax in person, along with the flowmaster 40,50 and magnaflow all on a tacoma 4.0 and in my opinion the dynomax is the deepest and meanest sounding.

Right now just FYI 4wheelparts has a cat back dynomax system for $256.00 free shipping and a $75.00 mail in rebate. great deal

I have a Dynomax Turbo on in my URD catback. It is a very nice ( not too loud) setup.

I am putting the DTLTs on and I am sure it is going to wake it up:)

It all depends on the sound you want. Personally, Im running the TRD exhaust. Not much gain, but sounds good IMHO.

I just got the dynomax superturbo installed, and I must say, it sounds mean when you're on it  at highway speeds, you can't even tell it's there. However, at lower RPMs it sounds a little like a fart cannon on a four cylinder civic. But I wasn't going for sound, just the HP :D

not trying to jack this thread, but while the topic is up, does anyone know of a muffler for an '01 DC that would be deep, mean and loud? I did a quick search, and came up with inconclusive answers.

I have the ultra flo, sounds great. You can hear it in some of the videos I have on my build page, sorry I dont have a dedicated sound clip yet. I'll work on it.

I'm a Magnaflow fan, having used Flowmaster quite a bit in the past. In general, I find Magnaflow to have the deeper sound (for a V6) that I look for. Check out some sound clips on Youtube and I think there is a thread on TW with exhaust sound clips, too.
