What's a burnout supposed to prove??? Every car can do a burnout. Hell my old tercel could do a nasty burnout, BUt was slower than shit. Just grow up and save your tires.

It doesn't prove anything. It's for racing. You heat tires up to get them sticky, so you can get a nice launch going down the 1/4 mile. Other than that, it can be a contest, where people go until they pop, causing loads of damage to cars, all for a fresh set of tires (that's the award).

I have done it numerous times, yes its stupid and proves nothing but, it makes me grin. shift down to first and roll forward to make sure shes down. hold brake lightly and smash the gas, dont push into her easy this engine isnt that stout, let off the gas once u get the revvs up, dont run it red line, once lit up you can play with the throttle, let off the brake and smash it to the floor, let her wind out. done...ive got the 6 cylinder with lsd, im sure the non-lsd's light up a tire much more quickly.

O and by the way, if you have been driving for a while it will be more difficult since your tires are up to temp and alredy stickier than cold.

again, just for shits and giggles...and short tire life.

    Lo in NOLA

Depends if you have the I4 or the V6, auto or manual, and rim/tire combo.

In my truck, I am able to just floor it from a stop and it spins through first. But an example video...
