Tail lights out.Don't know why

I noticed my front running lights were not on. After checking fuses under hood and not finding anything, I then noticed I have no tail lights wtf. Is there another fuse box somewhere? Can't figure it out.Almost dark. Wife needs truck tomorrow. Help!

 

maybe you need to refill your blinker fluid.

Looking at my alldata wiring diagram for my 2006.

There is a 50amp fuse under the hood that would affect the taillights (feeds other stuff too), also a 10 amp fuse for taillights only in the fuse block behind the coin tray.

There is also a taillight relay. The diagram is not that clear, but looks like it is on the rear of the fuse block that is behind the coin tray (may have to unbolt fuse block and turn over.

Been towing anything with questionable wiring lately? When I worked at NAPA people would come in all the time with fuses blown out from uhaul trailers.

headlights come on but not running lights or tail. brake lights work

 

dash lights don't dim at all when lights turned to first click

 

From Memario's link Besides the two fuses, the only relatively simple thing is the taillight relay.

Beyond that, the taillight switch sends a signal to the body ecm, and the ecm triggers the relay.

 

Again from Memario's link Page 29 shows tail relay on rear of body ecm/interior fuse block. Looks like you could swap it with acc power relay to test if you get that far.

If anyone can help I would be very grateful. After towing a boat and heading home(without the boat and trailer) I noticed my traction control and abs lights were on. They would not go off. I stopped and replaced a blown stop light fuse under the hood and a tail light fuse under the dash. Everything worked (not totally sure about the tail lights). Now this evening I hooked up a different boat and I had no tail lights. Everything else worked. I disconnected the boat light wiring and still no tail lights. I checked the stop light and tail light fuses and they were okay. Could my trailer hitch wiring be shorting out? Why won't my tail lights work?? Is a different fuse blown? Any ideas??

Found 10 amp tail light fuse burned out. Replaced it. Everything worked fine. hooked it up to the boat trailer and "pop" the fuse burned out again. I assume it is a problem with the hitch wiring....right? Thanks

 

sounds like it man.... wiring might be crossed, or you might have wire grounding out somewhere....
