I hope your "JAP CRAP" runs your ass over. This title is EXTREMELY RACIST and I don't know if anyone else feels this way, but I DON"T APPRECIATE IT!!! I know this is supposed to be an open forum where you can say about anything you want, but you better DAMN WELL KNOW who you're pissing off!!! If the mods remove this post, they better remove this thread.

Yeah I'm pissed. I'm half Japanese and I didn't serve 20 years in the U.S. Air Force to have some jerk call my family and me names.

First off, welcome to TW from Blue Ridge, GA! 2nd, not sure who pissed in Rogueleader's cheerios. 3rd, you won't be sorry you left Ford. And the majority of these "Jap Vehicles" are built here in the US. Mine was built in Cali, some were built in Mexico, etc. etc. The company may be Japanese, but the truck is almost anything but. Anyway, the only real problem I've had with my 2005 is my clutch pedal squeaked/stuck right after the release point. I got it fixed and it did it again. I've had it fixed 3 times and it seems to be OK this time. I think the 2nd time it did it was Dealer-caused. Not goin back to Cherokee Toyota. There have been a few on here with the same clutch pedal problem. There's a TSB for it. As everyone has mentioned, The spring TSB is a common problem, and the tailgate. I havne't had a problem with either of these besides the springs squeakin, which you can pressure wash and it'll go away for a while. Those are the most common problems that I can think of. Hope ya decide to get the Taco, it's a great truck!

No problems great truck!! I don't understand the easy to steal tailgate...any pickup has a removable tailgate.

Yea, but the Taco's can be taken off in like literally less than 10 seconds. The hose clamp mod fixes that

the throw-out bearing on the 2 gen 6-spds and the crappy stock h/u acting weird are the only two problems I have had with mine.

like stated above, the tailgate can be stolen in like 10seconds (chris4x4 has a vid up here somewhere), my serp belt just went (80k).

That and the fact that I'm pretty sure the title was supposed to be a joke...since he's comin from a Ford and all.

I own an F150 that is my personal truck and a Tacoma Prerunner that is my company truck and there's no way I'd trade my Ford for my Taco. Now with that said, and before the hangman's knots are tied in the ropes, let me add there's also no way I'd own any small truck except for the Tacoma.

I have been more than pleasantly surprised, by how my Tacoma is handling itself as a work truck. Even after the spring and shock TSB I did still have to add airbags to hold the weight I carry on a day to day basis and except for the fact Toyota is about to replace the rear bumper for the 2nd time in the last 3 months (rust) it is preforming amazingly well. It may have had a little trouble holding the weight, but it has no trouble pulling it.

I just prefer a full size truck. Strictly my personal taste though.
