Got the above in the mail today from 'Yota Corp stating that my 2010 Tacoma may have a defective gas pedal due to the floor mats, and advised taking out the mat on the driver side; they will notify me as soon as a campain remedy is available for my vehicle. I've got the W-Techs in now, and plan to leave them in there. Anyone else get a similar notice? Certain Tacomas between 2005 /2010 were mentioned...even advised me as what steps to take in event of stickage!;) Guess they be covering their backsides?

We all got the notices. It was standard issue. I understand that we sit and wait for them to contact us when the brake override is ready for our trucks.

I could be wrong but i thought it was for the rubber TRD floor mats. When i had them in my 08 their was a ton of room by the gas pedal. I know have them in my 04 and they fit pritty damn good.

Thought it odd also, as mine has the 2 driver side hooks; the notice included the vin # for my particular truck, as well as chart w/ floor mat #s and colors for Tacomas '05>'10; definitely not a mat prob, even though that's what the notice pertains to...wife got a similar notice today for her '08 Honda Element for possible brake probs/VSA etc...not concerned about either, although I'll let Honda check her ride...

I'm pretty sure that Toyota sent the recall to everyone, regardless of which type of floor mats you have. I think it was done for legal reasons.

Got a letter and tossed it since mine has the hooks installed currently holding Weathertech mats.

Mine had the factory mats literally tied to the floor with the same style of plastic ties used to hold pairs of socks together.

    A few.
It doesn't matter if you have hooks. They all have the floormat hooks. There is still a recall on all 05-10 tacomas.

So, what do we get if we take our trucks in? New improved floormats? I wouldn't mind new ones as mine are dirty. They have the hooks.
