Although anecdotal, everyone I know who has kept a Chrysler product for a decent length of time, say over 50K, has had tranny issues. They are notorious for them.

    So there's my answer.

A friend has one and he can't afford it as a daily driver. 11-12 mpg is the best he gets.

you're just intrigue by the newness factor along with the lift/V8. Trading for something older and IMO definitely less reliable is absurd. The difference in monthly payments will offset by the gas guzzling V8/lift. Take a few wks then do a MOD on your ride, you will regain your mental state of saneness.

Hey no need for name calling:D

I figured what the responces would be, just wanted to hear what everyone had to say about those trucks.

Oh yeah, I went over to the dakota forums to read about what was going on in their world; researching there trucks and all.

I was reading through some threads,
And someone had the nerve to say that all Tacoma Owners Are ASSHOLES! LOL

My last truck was a 2001 Dodge Dakota Sport Club Cab with the V8.
It was VERY reliable. I was the 2nd owner and bought it with 70,000 miles. I put another 50,000 on it and only replaced the brakes and a $20 fan module.

The only reason I got rid of it was because I had new truck fever and bought the Tacoma. :D
