TicTacOma's post probably has confused many....the rings he has in his pic ARE NOT the same as the MilSpec D-Rings that everyone else is referring to.

I don't think I've seen pics of the mil spec ones mounted under the rail... just the smaller ones... they did come from army surplus.com, too

Yes, that is why I asked the question.....if anyone has in fact mounted the MilSpec rings under their rail yet....

Does anyone have a sku or a link to the smaller ones for mounting under the rails?

They have the smaller, less substantial and thinner D-Rings at Lowes. Saw them today.

I just ordered a Bakflip G2 Tonneau cover and know that it attaches into the side rails (hence my interest in adding D-rings). I plan to fit D-rings to the bed bolts but would also like to fit them under the side rails as some of you have done. Will this create a problem with the fit of my new tonneau cover?

This is great! Saved me some big bucks, despite the ridiculous shipping. The price of 6 was still only 5 dollar more than the cost for 2 oem ones.

I'm not worried about rust, since it's in a composite bed. Unless it may damage it somehow?

Got mines today and installed them. They were very noisy. So I got the idea to cut small strip of velcro, and rivet them next to the each ring. Then just secured them. No more sound. :)
Looks a little cheesy though, but the jingling got old very fast.

I didn't have the patience for the plastidip, although I did consider it.
    it's already too late. lol
