I'm switching to black, so once I put them on, I'll put my clear headlights in the for sale section

You need to buy a bulb that is silver, but lights up orange. They sell them at autolumination.com

Lay on your back underneath the truck and you will be able to see the general area it's in. You'll probably need a deep socket to get at it.

I think it'd look good on a white truck and that SWB truck looks pretty sweet. On anything else, BHLM is the way to go, no question about it.

Most states allow the turn signal light to be amber or white in color. Google up your states DOT lighting requirements to check. One of my first "mods" was to replace the amber turn signal bulbs with clear bulbs. No more egg-yolk look, and the DTRLs actually look like DTRLs and not like you've left your parking lights on. Much cheaper then a silver amber bulb or an led.

If you do want the amber color though, you can use a light coat of silver engine paint over an amber bulb. Just be sure the amber bulb is colored glass and not a painted amber bulb. I've run painted bulbs like this in my last truck for about 7 years and on my motorcycle for 4 years. Light output is only slightly less, and they've all lasted through the years. I've also painted the Tacoma's side marker bulbs like this, as the "law" requires amber side marker lights. Anti-chrome and anti-egg-yolk I am....
