If anyone is interested in this product that i found on ebay the other day. I did a rendering of my truck with them on to see what it would look like. Prices range from 255.00 to 399.00 for the HID set up. Chrome or black jdm are offered.[IMG]

I saw these too like a month ago. Are you thinking of getting a pair? I believe that the $3xx- ones are HID.

These should be a great addition if your purpose is for better visibility. But, IMHO, this particular design just does not flow with the truck.

None currently, but I would like a better sounding exhaust and perhaps a cold air pack and some color coded step bars
Way to go Sunruner19, what is the lighting distance advantage with those? Do they blind on coming vehicles? I sure would like to get some bright lights on my rear bumper to keep the Mass. tailgaters away ..... LOL

06,V6, acc cab, sr5, Brillant Red, all this cold weather is keeping me from washing my truck.

I definitly agree that the design doesnt go with the flow, just fooling around with it here.

The beam pattern of projection headlamps, (low beam) has a straight cutoff so it will not blind on coming traffic. As far as bright lights on the rear, all i can suggest is some kind of annoying red L.E.D. light. Although I am quite familar with pilgrim tailgaters, past experience advises not to do it as you never know who you will piss off. When we come up to Ma. this summer, we'll discuss the pilgrim tailgaters, lol.

Sunruner19, sounds good to me, lets hope summer shows up nice and warm and some southerly breezes. Point taken with you never know who you are pissing off.

Decided not to use the ebay units, instead going with the Hella 90mm. They come either low beam or high beam, but not low/high in one unit. Measure 4" in dia. I have a spare set of reflectors from my damaged left/right headlamps that i am going to use first to modify.

This is the main problem with ebay that i found. There are numerous projection lights for the tacoma, quite a different range of prices also. Looking at everyone of them, some are cheaper but the shipping is higher and from the same seller! I also looked at the seller's ratings which is often misleading. One seller has a rating over 98% and another at 97% but sells more, obviously the one who sells less will have a lower complaint rating, which is misleading (both sellers have power seller ratings) As far as quality, they all look the same to me until you spot two of the ads which show the wiring in the back of the unit. one unit the shows the wiriing harness on the back is quite sloppy and the other is more neat in appearance. All claim to be plug n play so to speak but i question that too. I am going to go into another forum to see if anyone has installed one of these units.

The black tacoma is using the ebay unit modified with "eyebrows" to block out the led lights.
Red tacoma is the more popular mod customized by individual owners using projectors from different cars modified to fit the toy.
After looking at all the ebay units and different prices, i could not distinguish any differences (other than black or chrome, HID or halogen)) and came up with the conclusion that they all come from one manufacturer.

The one big difference here is that you can spend up to 400 on the ebay units which simple are plug n play or go the more adventurous route and do a custom modification which i intend on doing. Obviously the custom mod would entail more time and cost more to do, but its something you can say, Hey i did that myself.

For more info on the hella 90mm and 120mm halogen and hid, I have included a link which is quite informative:
