If you want two antennas, what you need is a co-phased cable. This will enable both antennas to work together and give more gain.

I am of the mind that two CB antennas scream 'redneck' and 'I know nothing about using CBs or any type of radio' unless you drive an 18 wheeler. If you were concerned about getting the best performance out of your CB, you would be running a 102" whip straight out the top of your cab, be using quality coax, and getting your SWR just right.

A fake antenna? That's like welding on a fake exhaust tip on the other side of your truck just for the look.? I vote no

Not sure what you are talking about here...

CB is AM modulated and restricted to 4 watts by the FCC. Sure, you may get away with amplifiers, but all those folks ever do is stomp on everyone else and TX to people who are too far away to respond on their legal transceivers.

I have an amateur radio license, which does open up many more options far more powerful, reliable, and easier to use than CB, but it does come with many restrictions.

What is the point of adding a dual antenna if it has no purpose? Stick with one.

The main reason I wouldn't hook the second up ( correct me if I'm wrong)
I've always heard that two don't work as well as the one cause of how close they are and tuning them is pretty difficult- that's just my understanding

Yeah in order for them both to be productive, based on the wavelenghs of the waves they need to be over 7' apart.

Another mod that brings the ghey for sure.

I already have the CB and the one antenna is hooked up and functional, after reading the other posts I think i will go with dual setup and hook BOTH of them up to the CB - A buddy of mine can "supposebly" help me tune them correctly.

And if all else fails Ill go with plan B >>

First off "just for Looks" Someone needs to Grow Up. I was a CBer years ago before the FCC dropped the License for CB. CB then went down the toilet. I am a HAM and Proud of it. We have to pay to test and study. Our radios cost way more and we talk further. CB the 11 meter freq. is still Fed up!! CB has its place if you are going to be a responsiable operator. You can Volunteer your time and help your local Govt. Check into it. Please don't just be a goof ball on the air. The radio can be very important when you are four wheelen.
Just don't think of it as something that just looks cool.or is a chick magnet.
