b/c the camera is in the tailgate latch, not really an issue as I always have the tailgate down when loading/unloading.

I love the camera, especially for hooking up trailers!

I like to use it to determine if I am "in the space" while backing up.

The curb or painted line lines up directly at the bottom when rear bumper is about 4" away.

I thought it was nothing more then a fancy option i'd never use; but I was wrong. I use it everytime I back into a parking space so I can tell how close I am to the car behind me or if I'm close to the curb or somthing. Very smart idea

Exactly. I can put the ball right under the hitch everytime. Side mirrors are still needed to back up but the camera adds a little extra assurance.

As has been stated above , I thought the camera was a bit gimmicky when I first got my truck , now I use it all the time to supplement my mirrors when I back up , and it looks directly down on the tow hitch for hooking up a trailer .

Be aware of the fisheye lens, but it's pretty cool to have it. It will make backing up to a trailer very easy too! You'll be dead on every time.

    I use mine alot too..

Funny story-- I was renting a mini-excavator.. about 3800 lbs + the trailer about 5000 lbs total...
Anyway-- When the guy pulled the trailer out, he told me that he would help me back up and hook it up...I just told him to step aside I have this handled....

    he look so perplexed...

I put it in reverse, let the cam come on then proceded to back perfectly under the trailer...

    He just shook his head..
when I went in to sign the rental aggreement, the guy behind the counter told me that the trailer guy said that I had to be the best trailer backup guy he ever saw!

I laughed, and said " guess he didn't realize I had a backup camera!" We both laughed.....

One time one of my boys' friends dropped his bike in the driveway right behind my truck (pre-taco/no back-up cam)...crunch...I use the back-up cam in addition to the rear views every time now...

Love it, living in Montreal the parking spots aren't as big and the truck has to be squeezed into most spots so its not sticking out too far. Parallel parking too is a breeze because i can get within inches of the car behind us. If you dont get the TRD sport or Off road pkg then install in afterwards well worth it.
