Im hoping you guys can help me out here. I just bought the truck saturday and its the first toyota ive ever owned and love it so far.
The only thing im getting worried about is sometimes, not all the times, while coasting on level pavement or downhill it tends to downshift, is this normal?

its an 05 access cab v6 4x4 trd offroad

    any input would be great
    thanks

Normal, usually does it at about 30mph. Some people like it, some don't.

I have the same trouble on my little truck. It feels like it's gonna brake down but I asked the dealer an it is normal.

x3. I think Toyota just designed this transmission to downshift aggressively when coasting to

    A) Err on the side of extra control in vehicles this heavy
    B) Mimic the feel of manual transmission a bit more accurately
