Bad Luck Tacoma

Picked up my new 2010 Pyrite Access Cab 4x4 on April 16th. My first new car in over 20 years.
Since then, a tree has fallen on it, a rock flew up and chipped the windshield, the door got dented in a crowded parking lot even though I parked way at the end, and today on the way home, a wild turkey flew out of the bushes and dented my 'A' Pillar. That's gonna cost me my $500 deductible for sure. And it also scratched the brand new in-channel rain guards that I just put on.
I know, it could have been a lot worse, but I'm about ready to just drive it into a tree and be done with it.

 

Think of it like this: its a truck... you can keep it mint but a few scratches don't look that bad. The a pillar sucks tho

Nope, that's one hurtin' bird though. I did feel bad for the little fucker. It was still able to make a semi graceful landing in the ditch, so maybe it will be ok. It sounded like a baseball bat whacking my truck though, so its gonna have a hell of a hangover I think. Seriously, hopefully it doesn't suffer though...if I had a gun I gladly would have shot it, followed closely by the Taco.

At least I found out that the V6 can peel some pretty good rubber when you tromp on it when you're pissed.

 

Yours is as bad a target as mine (see the other accident thread). I have decided that there are certainly worse things that can happen to me than some truck damage. But it does suck when it's brand new, for sure.

Those birds can do some amazing damage. I've never hit a turkey but my brother had a turkey vulture come through the windshield once. Thirty years later he still honks at every bird in the road.

 

A few years ago, a guy in NH hit one on his motorcycle, which threw him off and killed him.
Like I said, it could have been a lot worse...still sucks though.

 

Check into paintless dent removal. May be a cheap option for the ding.

You might get the heat/can of air technique to work on that one- Doesn't look like paint damage...and the worst that happens is you have to get it professionally done anyways....

 

Had a new 2002 S-10 My son and his buddy shot a potato with his potato gun and put a hard crease dent in my fender. No he didn't mean to do it just being a kid..
