I just bought a 2006 tacoma, I have had trucks before but this is my first tacoma. I would like to do a spray in bedliner but would I lose the factory tie down tracks and small storage compartments back there?

 

Is there a reason why you want to do a spray on liner. The bed is already made of a high strength plastic.

 

Yes, I have had a spray in bed liner before on a Ford and they are just a lot more durable, I got my taco used and the bed is pretty scratched up, along with the fact I'd like to take the plastic railing off because dirt and rust can build up under that, id rather it be Rhino or linex - Do you know if its possible?

 

I think you'd be wasting your money. Get a bed mat and then you won't be able to tell what the bottom looks like. I wouldn't worry about the railing, but you can take it off yourself and put some spray on liner yourself if it made you happy.

 

You can get it done as Doc.SS states. I would say save the money and by some DYI stuff. However, I know a guy that has his Ford spray lined and they just covered his tie downs so they would not get sprayed.

 

Rhino lining is great stuff. My Dad got it done on his Chevy and it's held up well for several years. It sticks pretty good to a painted steel bed but I don't know about the slick plastic used in the Tacomas. I'd talk to a dealer and ask them if they have done any Tacos and how they have held up. The Rhino people that did my Dad's truck are pretty good about letting people know what the material works good for and what it doesn't.
