Oh I agree with most of those sentiments...I'm just amazed that it was even asked at all, I guess.

Yeah, same here. All we can do now is wonder if he'll heed our warnings.

Man a black Cover sure isn't a black Ball. I have a Blue cover and a green cover. Be thankful you don't have BLUE or GREEN BALLS

Yeah, it looks really good as is. No need to over do it.

I didn't see the picture of your plate, but it sounds like you want to be as hidden as possible without standing out like a sore thumb. If you want a bumper ball and cover, by all means go for it. Just get a 2 inch ball, a black rubber cover for it, and throw it on there. Most people (myself included) aren't going to think anything of seeing a truck with a hitch ball on its bumper. :)

In CA, and most states, anything that obscures the plate (including the reg/month tab) is grounds for a stop and ticket.

    agreed

and i prob shouldn't be telling you this cuz i think what your doing is dumb, but a friend of mine used to have the trailer plug in the bumper of his chevy just to the right of the plate, not underneath the bumper like most tacomas, and he "accidentally" left the flap for the plug open. it was a hinged non spring loaded flap and covered part of the last number so you couldn't tell what it is.
