I just did this within the hour, followed these instructions to the T and I was done within an hour. skid pan and all. Also by myself. Was a little hectic to get new one on at first but then it was all on, in grooves and all. Thanks for the GREAT instructions!! Oh ya, I got 125,000 out of this belt. All highway miles and bought truck new. Still was in good shape with no splits. Wouldnt advise this though.

Did mine yesterday... OEM belt $52.95 DIY savings $125.00

took all but 40 min.. Many thanks for posting the pulley diagram and suggesting to come in from the bottom.. only hassle was looping the belt over the fan , the rest was pretty simple... Thanks !!!

Just replaced mine. A little more than 125,000 miles, belt would squeak a little on start up on cold/wet days.

holy cow is it easy. I was a little worried that I’d mess something up but it literally takes 10 minutes. Just be sure to have a diagram handy for putting the new one on.

Old belt, cracks don’t look to bad? What do y’all think?

Seen worse, but you did right by replacing it. Think I replaced mine somewhere around 150~160k as preventative maintenance.

On a separate note, in that 2nd and 3rd pic looks like a build up of oil/sludge.

I cant imagine how hard this would be if you didn't know about pinning the tensioner !

Here is mine at 187,450 miles. Replaced it with a $20 Bando belt from eBay yesterday.
It took about an 30 mins, and wasn’t that hard without pinning the tensioner back.

    9ED5540D-E885-4F5D-88FE-DF31BA315479.jpg

    Changes since the job:
A little less enthusiastic startup. Probably from the friction of the new belt. It still sounds fine, but it used to rev higher, so the old belt probably slipped.
    Quieter idle.
New tick sound from behind the glovebox. It’s reproducible when decelerating from 10 mph and with the foot on the brake in D. AC on/off is the same. The RPMs at a stop sign were dipping below 500 and it felt like it was going to stall, so I put it in N and revved it.

I've never pinned my tensioner. I use a 1/2-inch breaker bar with one had and and slide the belt in/out with the other. Always working from the bottom. No, I don't have body builder arms; quite the opposite.

Update. The engine is as normal again. No more low RPM idle or ticking. Motor is quiet and everything feels great.
