Got the new truck home

I picked up my truck last night at Harr Toyota. I had a good experience with the dealership, they actually were a little overkill with insuring customer satisfaction, but who can blame them. My salesman Will was great it was nice talking to a salesman that acted like a “normal” human being rather than a robot who is programmed to act as the dealership desires. Driving the truck home I immediately noticed technology has come a long way since 2003 my dodge Dakota drove VERY different than my new Tacoma. Bumps that would shake and rattle my Dodge didn’t even phase my Tacoma, could be due to the suspension having more travel though. Over all so far I am very satisfied, today is my day off I spent whole morning moving in to my new truck, transferring my “tools”, I am over kill for sure I have WAY to much stuff. Last night I visited my girlfriend on the way home from the dealership, when It was time to leave I came out to a cat ON THE ROOF OF MY NEW TRUCK!!!!! It’s the neighbor’s cat, it didn’t leave any scratches today I put two coats of wax on my truck hopefully now she’s protected, though I will be picking a new parking spot farther away from the neighbors house. One thing I hate so far are the factory carpet floor mats, they will be ruined in a week. I want Whether Tech liners so bad but they are too much money, I may save up but does anyone know of any good off brand floor liners or mats that are comparable? I ordered the factory trailer harness my buddy and I are going pick it up at the dealership today, I also have the trailer hitch on the way from Ebay for Monday. I would like a tonneau cover but I do not want to lose my bed railing system, what do I have to watch for when looking at tonneau covers? As far as the rest of the truck it will probably stay stock, I just drive it, my project is a 1949 Chevy Pickup, that's where I dump my money lol.

As far as floor mats, I have husky liners in mine and I love 'em. I've used 'em in really nasty conditions (mud, snow, etc.) and the carpet underneath is completely clean -- no stains anywhere.

 

Lol the chevy isn't much to look at yet, I'm painting it soon though then I'll post a pic for ya.

Congrats on the taco. But as for the Chevy, in progress pics are as good if not better to me.

 

good lookin truck. i got a tonneau for my reg cab made by "rugged cover" it uses the bed rail system to fasten, and is a tri-fold as opposed to a roll up. only had it a week, but so far so good

 

^^ What he said. My factory mats actually DID look like crap after a week. I'd just save up and get some quality liners when you have the $.

And cats like new Tacomas too! There's one cat with good taste

 

Nice, sweet ride. I'm certainly biased, but I think the 4x4 reg cab is the best tacoma look out there, and you got it in a great color. Congrats.

Ok guys I sprayed the first coat of base on the chevy today, I'm going to wet sand it then it's getting another coat of base and some clear, tomorrow i'll post pics. Question, I just took my GF for her first ride in my new truck, I was all excited to show her what 4wd low range was like, you know make the taco do some crawling up a dirt hill and stuff. I pushed the clutch in (all the way down) shifted it into 4wd Hi, pushed the switch in a little, and turned it to 4wd low.......beep beep beep beep wtf? Anyone have this problem? I read the manual I did everything correctly. I went from forward to reverse drove around and everything.............beep beep WTF????
