I am not sure if anyone has had this issue or not but when I shut my drivers side door it sounds like there is something inside (metal) slapping together. I have already pulled the door panel apart and attempted to locate anything loose but nothing obvious popped out at me. All of the other doors on the truck shut solid and without any noise...

    Help?

Well I opened my drivers side door and found the metal crossbeam inside to be the problem. It appears that there are some sort of bumpers or sound absorption material on the inner door. The one closest to the hinge was not working and allowing the crossbeam to vibrate each time the door was closed. I added a little weather stripping material under the beam and the noise finally went away...

Toyota wanted to charge me $92.75/hr to diagnosis the noise...

My 99 Tacoma just started making this awful noise, everytime i close door with window up or down. So does the cross beam just lose its padding or what?

Do you expect them to work for free or are you still under warranty?
