I just bought a 2006 Tacoma Sport 4X4 double cab. I really love the truck, but have one question that I can not find the answer to. The back light to the instrument panel is lite 24/7 whenever I am driving the truck. Not just when the lights are on, but all the time. Is this normal, or do I have an issue. I can adjust the brightness, even turn it all the way down, but it does not go off when the turn the lights off.

    Thanks.

On my 2009 they stay on when driving...I think that's normal so no worries!

There should be a slide dial on the far left side, that slides down and up. Look in your manual.
    Slide down to turn off.

    yes its normal,

it bugged the hell out of me because I was so used to the backlight only being lit up when the lights were on.

I found myself driving at night in well lit areas without my headlights on because i was so used to having to turn the lights on for the panel to light up LOL

Just keep your headlights on 24/7 when driving. Mine turns on and off when I turn the key If I leave the headlights on when I shut off the truck.
