2 tiny dents

Ok, so i dont think i have posted anything about this before cause it was no big deal, but now that i figured out how the dents got there, it sort of is a big deal. The guys that went on the trip with me will remember that on my rear passenger side quarter panel, i had two tiny little dents very close to each other. i had never noticed them before, hodge actually pointed them out to me on the trail. they look like someone took their middle finger and index finger and just pushed in the sheet metal (which unless you are a kung fu master, is impossible) So it was driving me crazy, not so much that the truck was dented, but that i had absolutely no idea where they could have come from or what could have caused them. there was no paint damage. so whatever it was was soft enough to not damage the paint but hard enough to dent sheet metal. they look kind of like hail damage, but that made no since cause there were only two dents in one very small area, plus they were on the side. i thought paintball gun? i had shot a camper with a paintball gun before and the dents looked almost identical. but i would have seen the paint or heard the gun. so for weeks this has been driving me nuts, until one day it hit me.... knuckles. if you make a fist, and put your two most pronounced knuckles in the dents (your pointer finger knuckle and middle knuckle) they fit just right. well almost, i have small hands so they dont quite fill in the area but if you hands were just a little bit larger than mine it would be a perfect fit. some asshole punched my truck! Seriously, who punches a truck? Retaliation doesn't make sense. i dont know anyone that has a problem with me enough to damage my truck. and even if i did, it makes more sense to slash a tire or key it, not punch it. not only is that a stupid form of retaliation but why would you hurt yourself in order to damage something to get someone back? here's my theory. Guys can relate to this...

have you ever been so pissed you absolutely had to punch something? i have, many times. so my truck is parked somewhere, a party or a parking lot, and some dude is on the phone with his gf, she pisses him off, and he immediately swings at the closest thing.... my truck. i've done that before, just never to a truck or other peoples stuff. But i am absolutely convinced that the two dents in my truck are from the two most prominent knuckles of a fist. so i wasn't pissed before, but now i am. i want to find whoever punched my damn truck and put some dents in his head!

Anyway, they aren't that bad, i can probably pull them out with no problem. my question is, what is the best way to pull them? what have you guys used for small dents? brand names, prices and locations where i can purchase would be much appreciated. thanks guys.

What kind of d-bag punches somebody elses truck. Ugh.

Though, I have put several holes in my wall so I guess I can't really talk to much about that. I haven't done it though since I nailed a stud, broke something, and now when I rotate my right hand a bone cracks and it feels weird.

The two tiny dents of death!!!

Get rid of the truck before it's too late. Better yet I'll come get it so you don't have to worry about it finding it's way back..

Dude, that blows!

Could you post a picture or two? Some dents can be pulled by using a big suction cup. Pep Boys once sold them but that was years ago and I don't think that chain carries anything useful anymore. Look in the auto body section of a quality parts store and you should find something that might work.

http://www.amazon.com/WILMAR-W1028-S..._bxgy_hi_img_b

Just make sure you wash the truck before using the thing. Any surface dirt can get ground into the paint if it's not clean.

If the dents are really small the big suction cup above might not work. Then it might be worth trying pops-a-dent or something like that. Not all the infomercial stuff is complete crap. Just most of it.

first thing to try is getting some dry ice (or freeze spray or a can of compressed air) and a heat gun (or hair dryer.) First, turn the can of compressed air upside down and squirt the two dents for a bit. You want them to get very cold. Then get the heat gun out and focus on the areas all around the dents.

Hey nd-they sell a kit called "Pops-A-Dent"-has a hot gluegun, 4 different size pulling dollies, a puller and other stuff. It's about $50.00 but really worth it cause you have it around for the next ones. Works very well on everything except sharp dimples.

Lots of body-shops will pull those sorts of dent for you and not charge much, less than $100 I would think. I'd rather pay a professional to do it than try it myself and botch the job, which I most likely would!!
