Why old people shouldn't drive

So lucky enough i had an old lady swerve into me on tuesday, she just wasnt paying attention and drove into the side of my truck, yes, im mad as hell. She was driving a 2008 jeep wrangler and it didnt do a thing to her car, all i have is 5000 miles and now this. its just a rant but it sucks.

 

Ouch, thats a lot of body work. Old people should have to take another drivers test at age 65. An old lady hit my buddy in a parking lot. he was waiting for a car to pull out and BAM she rear ends him. And, goes on to tell the cop he was backing out like a "bat out of hell" WTF?!

 

yeah this lady and her husband (who wasnt with her but showed up later) were rude as hell to me because they thought it was my fault, but she is the one who got a careless driving ticket.

Agree 100%. As the same thing that happened to the OP almost happened to me about an hour ago

 

Yeah old people like to talk shit on the younger drivers like we don't know how to drive, when really we are alot safer than they are MOST of the time.
I saw an old lady (60-65ish) backing out of a parking lot and rear ended another car that was behind her and cracked his bumper all the way across and she just took off.

I think it should be required for them to retake driving school and all driving tests at 60, and have license taken away at 70-73

Sorry to hear that though, I've already spent $500 on body repairs on my Taco with 1500 miles on it...wtf with these trucks and damage??

SUCKS!! sucks more that one day we will be old. i bet my denture money we will be changing our tune...QUICK!

i see a gray hair, or a slow moving buick..i stay frosty. old people are cool...they are the largest group that actually gets out and votes. no change in driving test laws, that i can see. seriously, us young drivers, with our lightning quick reflexes, should be able to dodge a geez.

"Old" is always 25 years older than what you currently are.

 

I totalled my first car because an old woman pulled out in front of me. She was 65. It was on a 4 lane road, she was turning left off of a side street, she had a stop sign and had to yeild to traffic. I was the only car coming in the right lane doing 50-55 ish. She proceeds to pull out into the right lane, then stops because she sees me. I quickly react and swerve into the left lane and hit the brakes to slow down not knowing what she might do. Then she pulls out into the left lane right in front of me. I slam on the brakes, brakes lock up (no abs in the accord I was driving) I cream her right in between the front and back doors, my air bags go off, I hit her so hard she did a 180 and ended up in the turning lane on the far side of the opposite lanes of traffic. Smashed in the side of her Mercedez E320 about a foot. Totalled my poor accord The county installed a traffic light there a few months later.

 

this is actually really funny to me....I'm older now, like no shit huh, turned 39 in November and I remember rushing to get from place to place and even speeding to get there. Now, I look at traffic as a chance to catch my breath and relax a bit. So what if it takes an extra 5 minutes, seriously that's what you save when rush, I'm gonna get there too. My wife is younger, 4 years, and she laughs when I take my time doing things and eggs me on a bit....I just smile to myself and chuckle a bit. I sold a little car, cobalt ss with the supercharger, for the truck. That thing was quick, 12 sec 1/4 mile quick and it was loud and a blast to drive. I can't believe I ever bought that car but it was fun.
My point is, I used to rush to get places, get real impatient when cars in front of me went slower and all that good crap, now...hell, I relax and enjoy the drive. I still like to go fast every now and then, but there isn't a flag waiting for me, why rush...I'll get there too.
