I know that sounds crazy, but I'm a newbie and confused.

I found a 2005 2WD doublecab that I drove, liked, and bought. Can someone tell me if I have a pre-runner or not?

What I do know is that it's an SR5 with V6. Has the color matched fenders and front bumper, with a chrome rear bumper. Not the TRD or sport model (no side badging, hood scoop, or color matched door handles).

Unfortunately I did not get the original window sticker, so I can't see the details and options.

    1) Can I assume this is a pre-runner?
    2) How can I tell if the ignition/keys have the electronic demobilizer system?
    3) How can I find out if it has locking rear differential? I don't see a button on the dash for that, so I assume not. But hey, I thought I'd ask while I was here.

I waited 15 years to get a Tacoma. She (sniff) completes me!

    Thanks,

    -Greg

If its a 6 lug then its a pre runner. If its 5 lug then is not.

Yes, it's a pre-runner. A pre is a 2wd tacoma on a 4wd suspension/chasis. If you don't have a REAR DIFF LOCK button then you don't have a locker (stock). I don't believe your year came wit the immobilizer but I am sure someone will verify.

If it was a double cab, it was a prerunner. The double cab is only available as a prerunner or 4x4.

Unless it has been debadged, it should also say PRERUNNER on the tailgate.

if its not a TRD off road then it wont have a locker. TRD's have either a hood scoop (sport) Locker for the Off Road. they also have a compass and temp gauge in the overhead console

You'll love it. I just joined this site a few weeks ago when I got my new 2010 Sport, and have spent hours and lots of $$$ that I wouldn't have if it weren't for this site :p
