    Hello everyone,

    im new to the forum and ill soon be a taco owner. im from BC Canada

    i am about to purchase a 2005 trd off road 4x4 double cab with 71000km. I just want to know if there is anything specific i should look for, i am a heavy duty technician apprentice so i know what to look for i just want to know if there is anything i need to watch out for that is not so obvious?

    And there were a few who had failing motor mounts. Mine still look brand new after all this time (and miles), but I guess some had problems:

    And if it has the original windshield, there may be a tiny pinhole leak in the seal going around the windshield above the mirror. If so, it will cause a reed-like buzzing sound when the air currents over the windshield hit about 75 mph or above.

    Edit:
    I should have also mentioned to check for a worn front differential bearing. If it has a mild vibration in the steering wheel/brake pedal and it goes away in 4wd, then that's what it is. A pricey thing to fix. But it isn't specific to the '05.

    I just bought myself a 05 TRD OR 6 speed w/ 58,000KM. Not sure what your going to pay but PM me and I'll give you my details.

    IF it's a 6speed check for the release bearing letting go. I had to fix mine but based on sound only there was no way to know when I bought it - would have had to done an inspection. Does yours have the extended warranty?

    ok cool, so nothing to major besides the motor mounts, but those will be easy to spot.
