Constant beeping in 4Lo

Can anyone explain why I have a constant beeping while I have my 2010 in 4Lo. I have owned 93 and an 04 and never had this problem. Please help.

 

that means its not engaged.

stop - neutral - flip to 4 lo - drive

creep slowly forward and it should lock up and stop beeping

You aren't actually in 4-lo. To engage 4-lo you have to be out of gear, stopped and already in 4-hi.

 

Yea you have to be at complete stop for 4lo that beeping gets annoying!

 

It's a new truck and needs to be broken-in, that and the locker if you got one, take your time and find a dirt patch that you can use to engage and disengage both a few times. After a while, it'll engage smoothly but need to follow the instructions on the visor and door. Also keep in mind to engage 4hi once in a while while it rains or slippery conditions just to keep the transfer case well lubed. Noting to worry about.......

Be in 4hi first. Stop the vehicle. Foot on the brake. Put it in neutral. Then you can flip it to 4lo.

How to put the truck in 4lo needs to be stickied somewhere for the people that fail to read the manual and don't use the search feature and find all of the other times this question has been answered.

 

Even if the truck didn't beep at you, it should be very obvious just from the truck rolling a few feet that 4lo isn't engaged. The beeping should seal the deal that somthing is not correct...

 

Also wait a couple of seconds after it engages before you throw it back into drive. I've gotten excited before and the grinding killed my excitement fast.
