What do i need to run 33's

I have an 08 TRD offroad dc. Want to put a lift enough to run a 33 inch tire. Thank u TacomaWorld.

 

About a 3 inch lift and some trimming, possibly up to and including getting your cab mounts boxed.

 

Yep. What he said. An easy way to do it is to get you some OME 885's and toytec top plates. Plus, an AAL for the rear.

I would think 4.5" or more to clear w/o cutting body mounts. I have 2.5" and 285/65-18 (32.87" i think), and rub my body mounts when in reverse.

 

im running 33s with a 3inch spacer/aal kit, i dont rub at all on my body but just a tiny bit on my UCAs, so youll need new control arms if you cant deal with a little rub

 

Well you probably haven't cycled your suspension enough to make it rub yet!

The fact is that the space isn't enough for 33" tires, regardless of the amount of lift you put. The cab mounts are a stupid design!

If you run a high clearance front bumper you will be able to move your tire further forward, to minimize the rubbing. A bigger lift will also give you more room to play, but it still can rub. (Stock tires can rub!)

It just depends on how you drive.

Just decide on what you want? And "sack up" and do it!

Take care of any issue that arises! i.e. rubbing, alignment, etc.........

If you don't have the time or the money to take care of these issues? Then keep it stock and enjoy the truck!

No lift or alteration to the vehicle is easy, or clear cut! You will have unique issue, because of the fact that the suspension is so "tweakable"

2 people could have identical lifts, but their trucks can drive totally different! Depending on how it is set up.

I thought you could run the 255's in 33's with minimal rubbing except the flaps or do you want a nice fat tire?

 

is 50k miles and living in the mtns good enough cycling? tough country 3in is plenty and cheap, but yes it is a cheap way to make 33's work

 

I had 33's and I had to cut my cab mounts, had to butcher my front bumper wheel well, and part of the front rear of the fender, and still had rubbing at
full cycle when going up a driveway at any speed above 10mph.
My 0.02 cents is don't run 33's, go with 275's

 

What's the biggest tire i can run with just some 5100's. Seems like a lot just to run 33's. I had a rubicon and did good with a spring lift. Solid axle is much better imo.

See post 10. 285s will work also but they are wider and may need a body mount chop if
you really wheel it!

 

I plan on running some sort of 285's on 17" Sport rims. Got the spidertrax spacers.

btw... I run 305/65/17 with a 4.5" lift with no problems
