where to get quality stereo installation s calif?

ventura county anyone know of a reputable installer?

 

it's really not that hard to install yourself..

 

get the conversion harness for wiring then its just match wire colors and plug it in. Install takes 20 minutes. Do it! =)

 

i only have the use of 1 arm

I had a system installed on my old 1st-gen by Al & Eds and was pretty happy with it (they put in a new HU, amp and sub since I had already swapped out the speakers myself before that), also had a good install done by Best Buy to replace a system that got ripped out of the same truck when I was living in Seattle.

The Al&Ed's job was 12 years ago and the BB was 9 years ago, so things might have changed since then, and may be variable from store to store.

 

all car stereo places are con artists .
they cut corners and hide stuff most people will never see or notice.
al & eds will cost you more $$ and youll get the same crap as
Joe Bloughs jihad stereo center.

the install is not real hard, but maybe help them out by ordering speaker adapters and stuff before you go into a shop. of course they will say they can do it, but you'll probably end up with speakers jammed into your doors not even covering the whole hole(and rattling) and they use drywall screws.!!!

I have used www.crutchfield.com to order a few systems and their prices are real close or the lowest and they have real good instructions.

oh heres a little fun I got into today.
I already put the dynamat on my rear doors and saw the horrible work a stereo shop did, had to make speaker adapters (like the *********.com ones) all fixed no rattles and decent sounding bass.
so today I crack into the front doors.. omg what a mess
there is this thin piece of masonite holding my speakers in and that is sheet metal screwed into the door. the weather guard (plastic) is all over the place too. So, poiking around I find broken glass in my door, musta had a breakin before I bought it,
anyways 4 hours later its all fixed and sounds much better. I didn't go all nuts with the dynamat just enough to take out the tinny sound. Heres some pics.
