Thumbs down Squeaky suspension

does anyones new tacoma have a very squeaky suspension? i have done some minor off roading and my suspension sounds like a 30 year old truck thats been sitting in a junkyard. its a new truck and i am not happy about that at all. Its supposed to be able to take a little beating, thats why the call it a Truck. If you have this problem, please tell me where the noise is coming from. Thankyou.

The squeak is coming from your rear leaf pack. It's a problem that a very large number of tacoma owners are experiencing. I took mine to the dealership and had them re-pack the leaf springs and the squeak went away for 9 months but now its back. If its dry outside they will squeak like hell and I can't stand it. When it's wet they aren't as obnoxious. I had tried putting different types of lubricants on the leaf springs which provided temporary fixes but nothing they solved the problem completely. Im gonna call my dealership again and have them fix the squeak AGAIN. Really annoying

I had my stock rear leafs for two years and no squeak, but two months with my new Dakars and they squeak like mad.

My 07 tacoma squeaks EVERYWHERE and it's Fkin annoying as hell!!

Ever since I went off roading once and it was muddy, The rear leaf pack began to squeak when getting in and out and with minimal movement of the truck. Ive pressure washed them MANY times, blew compressed air between the leaf packs to blow any dirt away, and it did get better but they still squeak.

Recently, I've also experienced a SUPER annoying squeak in my front suspension. Something sounds like a cricket type squeak. It might be the sway bar or something, Idunno but it's the most annoying thing ever because I can even hear it when going down the road.

thanks guys for the replys. i think i am gonna take mine back to the dealership. You would think when you buy a 30K dollar truck that would at least sound like a 30K dollar truck.

It's your bushings! I had the same problem, rear suspension sounded like SHIT, my truck squeaked every single movent that was made. The guy said my rear bushings were shot and he said they have replacements that are way better. Got them replaced....truck has a silent suspension

i just posted a thread about this not to long ago. I took my leafs off and forced as much grease between them as i could after cleaning them. As of today, they squeak still but not as bad. IT happens, just turn the radio up!!

I think it was 30 bucks for the bushings but 100+ for labor, I have the print out in my truck. But I 100% suggest replacing them....if you want your sqeak to go away. I just went to the dealership and told them what's up, they took my truck into the garage and said bushings are shot completely, he said it happens all the time, they were just shitty bushings

if you could find out the brand of bushings for us that would be pure awesomeness! I will just do it myself one weekend after the summer heat is over

All of the tacomas that I have seen tend to squeak all over but who cares, especially if its built to take some serious abuse and keep going. All of the soft quiet comfort ride crap tends to wear out faster and leave you on the side of the road or broke down on the trail. Thats why my squeaky tacoma will live longer than most trucks out there and thats a win in my book.

Most likely urethane bushings. No idea of a price though.

All the noise on mine is from the engine, suspension, trans, and the usual road noise. All came like that from the factory.

its embarrassing/annoying/it bothers the hell out of me driving a $30,000 truck that squeaks. its like that annoying seat belt rattle. I only want to hear my exhaust or music when driving. these foreign sounds just add to my road rage!!!

there is a write up in forums somewhere about a do it yourself fix for the squeaky suspension although im pretty sure its only temporary as well.

its the friction pads between the leafs. if you put grease/antisieze between them, it will stop for a while, but the best way to do it is to replace them or substitute them. im about to do a write up on how to do it with a bicycle inner tube. toyota dealerships have a kit for around $30 (according to the parts guy at champion toyota) but he says that its not much different from a cut innertube. like i said, i'll post pics and a write up tonight or tomorrow
