Squeaks drive me nuts. It makes the truck sound like a POS as if something is mechanically wrong with it.

Not sure how much action this thread has seen recently, but just wanted to throw something out there. I did the new Toyota pads a few months ago and was squeakless, but recently the squeak came back much worse than before. After weeks of losing my mind, I realized that my add a leafs had partially walked thenselves sideways out of alignment with the rest of the leaf pack. Banged them back into place, no more squeak.

Well hopefully the recall on the leaf springs will finally get rid of the squeak as well it slipping out, but I'm not holding my breathe. Does anyone know when that's coming out?

I did it couple of weeks ago with some heavy duty inner tube and it works. Nice and quiet.

FINALLY! I've had squeaky leaf springs for about two months. I went through MANY different things. WD40, oil, white lithium grease, centering all the leaf springs, Blowing out debris, etc. Today I am finally VICTORIOUS!! It wasn't the damn leaf springs! It was my spare tire the whole time! Make sure it's very tight!

Yea I'm a victim of this crap, it happen to me took me a month to figure out what it was until my buddy drove my truck and saw that the spare was a little loose.

The spare squeaky noises sounds identical to squeaky leafs.

I got all kindsa stuff in my truck that rattles and squeaks and roars and my hearing isn't what it was.

So I never noticed mine squeaked until I tried on purpose to make it squeak & it did. A little. So what...

I used to drive a '47 Plymouth club coupe as a daily driver in the 80's & it had old dirty leaf springs. SQUEEEAAK!

I cleaned them up and put silencers between the leaves then clamped the springs. I cut the silencers from the sides of 1 qt plastic oil bottles. I used black ones so they don't show. I didn't oil them so they'd bond a bit under pressure to which ever was the roughest surface, but slip on the other leaf.

That plastic is tough, but it conforms under pressure, and the things actually stayed in place once I learned how to shape them and roughen one leaf so they grab.

Most importantly they cost nothing, and 30 years ago I was a young engineer trying to afford a family and an antique car plus a real car for the Mrs. and a cheap motorcycle for the days I had the Plymouth apart. It usually took all my ingenuity to keep things rolling.

My leafs have both been just replace from toyota for the squeak. The new packs have the updated discs as well. My squeak is still there and sound more like its coming from the front shackle mount. I have tried greasing it and it still squeaks. Any tips?

Does anyone have any ideas on this? The 4-pack of "hockey pucks" do not work with the new frame and leaf pack. Is there a different part number for these spacers that have circular tabs not oblong?

Completed this mod 3 months ago. Forgot it ever squeaked until I was looking around TW for help with headlights and saw the trend. Takes more time to get ready and clean up than complete the mod. Too easy and last for months, so far so great.

I'm gonna try the inner tube trick but can't get to it for awhile. In the mean time, Is there any harm in drowning the leafs in WD40? Just to see if that helps temporarily?

I wouldn't waste my time with WD-40 for this problem. Just put any thin, small piece of rubber between the leafs. You can do a better job later but the whole job take 5 minutes.

So I have a 2015 and it squeaks everytime I go off roading... I first noticed it after the first time I went in mud (I don't go mudding anymore) and since then I always wash the crap out of the leaf springs. Usually after a few days or week the squeaks come back. On my truck it seems to already have rubber inserts in the leaf springs and my spare isn't loose. Should I take it to the dealer since it's still under warranty?
