Do you have any idea if this was from a truck or not?? Most commercial trucking lines have insurance for this very purpose....

 

I never got to see the broken windshield, but the new one sure looks nice. I feel your pain Ron. Don't forget to test the new window for water leaks in a couple of days. At least your cowel looked spot on. See ya!

 

Good news, this falls under the Comprehensive part of your insurance so your rates won't go up for one event. If you work with the glass company, there's a good chance that your $100 deductible will "magically disappear" if you ask.

Example: Call the company and tell them you want to "pay cash" for a new windshield. They'll quote you ~$350. Tell them you have insurance and the cost goes up to ~$550. It has something to do with "pre-determined rates" for repairs. Bottom line, a good shop will not charge you your deductible and still come out ahead.
