    Do you have any idea if this was from a truck or not?? Most commercial trucking lines have insurance for this very purpose....

    I never got to see the broken windshield, but the new one sure looks nice. I feel your pain Ron. Don't forget to test the new window for water leaks in a couple of days. At least your cowel looked spot on. :D See ya!

    Good news, this falls under the Comprehensive part of your insurance so your rates won't go up for one event. If you work with the glass company, there's a good chance that your $100 deductible will "magically disappear" if you ask.

    Example: Call the company and tell them you want to "pay cash" for a new windshield. They'll quote you ~$350. Tell them you have insurance and the cost goes up to ~$550. It has something to do with "pre-determined rates" for repairs. Bottom line, a good shop will not charge you your deductible and still come out ahead.
