it just pops in with 4 tab things, you may have to do a little sanding/fine adjusting to the kit to make it sit well in the dash. You get a single or DD?

You don't have to re wire anything if you remove the head unit again. It all should be plug and play. The HU harness should match up to the Crutchfield harness that plugs into the OEM plugs. All you are doing is using the factory ground. The colors should just match up. It's an industry standard.

the ground that came on the stereo has a hook attachment on it. Which unless he has the parts handy to attach it to the harness, its easier now and in the long run to just ground it to a bolt.

He has to connect the rest of the wires, the ground is no different. Cut and splice. It's a pain in the but to pull out the head unit and unscrew the bolt that you decide to use instead of trusting the factory ground.

Thats what im talking about being a pain in the future. If he cuts and splices the ground then if he takes the radio out again, he's going to have to splice it back together again. Im not trying to be a prick, im just saying in the long run its way easier to just ground to a bolt vs. splicing it.

All you have to do is unplug the harness. There is no cutting and re splicing if you wire the hu harness to the wiring kit that plugs into the factory harness.

the ground is part of the stock wiring harness, just like the hot wire and the speaker wires. its much easier to wire the crutchfield harness into the vehicle harness so that it all becomes plug and play.
